The Parker Canyon Lake Event Ride...   Ride with GPS map

Today we visit Parker Canyon Lake via Sonoita.  This is a beautiful remote lake just 5 miles from the Mexican border.  It was created from a dam built by the Forest Service after an agreement was reached with Amado rancher George Parker who donated the land.

Optional shorter distance of 37 miles from 83 and Elgin Canelo Road. Start at 8:45.

Socialize after at Pronghorn Pizza.

Leader: Mark Mench, mark.mench@outlook.com, 650.804.8469

Ride Notes:

  • Please park to the left of the Steak Out restaurant as close as possible to 82 or off the shoulder at 83 and Elgin Canelo Road.
  • There is a single(?) restroom inside Chevron gas station.  You can also find a remote spot in the back of the building.
  • There is no shoulder for most of the route, but traffic should be minimal.
  • There are no services along the route but there is a marina store at the lake.  They will fill bottles upon request, or you can buy bottled water.  Restrooms are just above the store up some steps (not in the store).
  • We will not be re-grouping along the route.  Find a compatible sub-group or ride on your own and we will meet at the marina.
