    The Dove Mountain Ride...   Ride with GPS map


    Ride to and through the scenic roads in Dove Mountain.   Head out south along La Canada, then Magee to Cortaro to Silverbell, then Coachline, Twin Peaks (across the I-10 overpass and Tangerine Rd).  Next it's up and over the hill on Dove Mt. with a stop for water and restrooms at the park at the very end of Dove Mt. road.   Return up and over Dove Mtn, then west along newly paved Moore Road and then south on La Canada Rd back to the start.

    The Kitt Peak Event Ride...   Ride with GPS map 

    Today we tackle the ascent of Kitt Peak, a 12-mile climb.  Kitt Peak is rated as the third hardest climb in Arizona and 130th in the US.   Meet at the 386 turnoff in the dirt parking lot.

    Socialize with a tailgate party after the ride.

    • The 12-mile climb averages 5.7%.  34% of the climb is between 0 and 5%,  60% is between 5 and 10%, and the steepest section is 8.7% (see below).

    This ride targets the 49er Country Club, the only club where Jack Nicklaus played competitively in Tucson (in 1963 and 1964) and also includes the McCartney Ranch, Reddington Pass, and a rest stop at the desert oasis in Aqua Caliente Park.  Socialize afterwards at Starbucks.

    The West Side Hills Ride...   Ride with GPS Map


    Notice the earlier start time - summer is coming

    Ride Description: The west side hills ride will take the bike path and head out to Sunset Rd.   We will take Sunset to the top, then go over and ride Camino del Cerro to the top.  Lots of hills, with regroups at the top of each road to enjoy the nice views.   There is the option of doing some of the hills and turning around as the front group comes down.

    Suggested C ride option is to skip the climb up Sunset Road and just do El Camino del Cerro.

    The Montezuma Revenge Event Ride...   Ride with GPS map

    Starting in Bisbee, this ride takes us to Montezuma Canyon Road in the Coronado National Memorial. The park was established to commemorate and interpret the European Coronado Expedition of 1540 that significantly impacted the indigenous people in the region.

    In honor of the Hohokam Indians who lived in Sabino Canyon between 300and 1400 AD, this ride takes in the 8 mile out and back climb to the end of Sabino Canyon.  Socialize after at Bashas' Starbucks.

    Head out Tangerine to Catalina State Park, then wander through Oro Valley Country Club, and then make our way to the Magee climb.   Stop and re-group at the top and then down Christie to Ina to Miraval to Via Entrada.    Water and restrooms at the Loop bikepath by Rillito racetrack, then return via bikepath and La Cholla, then right on Naranja back to the start.

    Starting in Safford, this ride takes us on the most difficult climb in Arizona, 21st most difficult in the US, and 245th most difficult in the World. 

    Two start options:

    1. Meet at Mount Graham Grocery and Deli at 8:00 AM for 21.5-mile climb.
    2. Meet at Arcadia Campground (11 miles up) at 09:45 AM to join first group for 10.5-mile climb

    Socialize after in Wilcox at the La Unica Restaurant, 142 North Haskell Ave, Wilcox.

    The ride will go out to Saddlebrooke via Tangerine, Innovation, Rancho  Vistoso, Oracle and Eagle Crest Ranch Roads.   Then up the hills on Saddlebrooke and Catalina Hills Rds, then wander through the back part of Saddlebrooke on nice smooth roads.   A stop at the store, then return.  We will return via Clubhouse Dr and Edwin Rd. to Columbus and Twin Lakes Rd.
