The Patagonia/Elgin Event Ride...   Ride with GPS map

See ride notes below...

Today we visit the southern Arizona towns of Patagonia, Sonoita, and Elgen.  Patagonia is named after the nearby mountains, and its formation is credited to Civil War veteran and rancher R. R. Richardson who began to develop a portion of his ranch where a new railroad crossed Sonoita Creek.

Socialize after at the Wild Horse Restaurant.

Ride Leader: Mark Mench, mark.mench@outlook.com, 650.804.8469

Note: There is not a rider leader for the C Level.  Please download the route and ride at your own pace.

Notes:

  • Thanks in advance for getting up early to participate in this ride.  We are starting early due to unseasonable hot weather and to avoid early crowds at the Patagonia Fall Festival.
  • No parking will probably be available along McKeown Ave where we normally park.  You will probably need to part along 82.  Use this reference for parking.
  • We will still meet in front of the Wild Horse restaurant to start the ride.
  • There are public restrooms available at the west end of town and there probably will be other areas set up.
  • After the ride, we can determine if the restaurant is suitable for brunch or if people would prefer to explore food options at the festival.
  • Text me if you are running late or lost.  I will attempt to contact any missing riders before we start.
  • The return route may be a bit busy as we head back into Patagonia.
